Spring Cleaning

To the top stressful events of a lifetime such as moving, changing jobs or divorce, I would like to add maybe somewhat down the list, having new windows installed. Eventually you get used to the prying, ripping, pounding and sawing but it is very unnerving at first.

We wanted the bedroom windows a bit lower so a log had to be sawed out. Actually we were unprepared for the general enlargement of all of the windows because of the six inch frame board under each which became more glass area.

John and Larry did a great job and kept things tidy as they went. I generally do my spring cleaning in the fall to prepare for the long winter months indoors. Log walls have a velcro quality which over the years presents enough of a cleaning dilemma with dusty roads, woodstove ash and cobwebs. Now to add sawdust. So while I had the furniture pulled out I decided to vacuum the walls one log at a time. Some furniture needed to be rearranged to allow for the new spaciousness of these picture windows.
